Regional Director
Western US 1
When I started out in education, I did not see my self as a math leader. Someone else saw something in me and provided with me opportunities to lead in a variety of ways. My leadership began while still in the classroom. I worked with my collaborative team and helped to facilitate the work we did together. I started doing presentations at conferences and then moved into positions outside of the classroom that supports teachers. I continue my leadership by participating in both state and national organizations and helping to share the future of math education for ALL students.
I look forward to continuing my leadership journey as a regional director!
I became an NCSM member over ten years ago when my district content specialist (and NCSM board member) asked me to present with another teacher around the work we were doing in our school district. I have been a member ever since! I found that I enjoyed learning and exploring my thinking of mathematics education from a leadership lens. I had found the people who shared my ideas, beliefs and encouraged me to continue advocating for the best possible mathematics for all students! I love being an NCSM member and value all the opportunities I have to learn from each other and network.
