When I began my career in education, I did not envision myself as a leader in mathematics education. However, someone recognized my potential and provided me with opportunities to grow and lead in meaningful ways. My leadership journey started in the classroom, where I collaborated closely with my team and helped facilitate our collective work to improve student learning.

As my experience grew, I expanded my leadership beyond my school by presenting at conferences and sharing effective practices with other educators. This led to roles outside of the classroom that allowed me to support teachers more broadly and contribute to instructional improvement. Today, I continue to advance my leadership through active involvement in both state and national organizations, helping shape the future of mathematics education and advocating for equitable opportunities and success for all students.

I am excited to continue this journey and further serve the mathematics education community as a Regional Director.

I became an NCSM member over ten years ago when my district content specialist (and NCSM board member) asked me to present with another teacher around the work we were doing in our school district. I have been a member ever since! I found that I enjoyed learning and exploring my thinking of mathematics education from a leadership lens. I had found the people who shared my ideas, beliefs and encouraged me to continue advocating for the best possible mathematics for all students! I love being an NCSM member and value all the opportunities I have to learn from each other and network.
